Description: The existing sidewalk along Craven Road – a heavily trafficked road that serves as the main entrance to CSU San Marcos – unexpectedly suffered vehicular damage and needed immediate replacement.  The purpose of this project was to replace the existing sidewalk in its entirety. Key features:

  • Approximately 168 LF of new sidewalk was installed.

  • Ten (10) existing sidewalk handrails were removed, straightened, and realigned, and then reinstalled. Handrails were painted with exterior enamel.

  • Soils disturbed by the sidewalk replacement were regraded to match the existing state of the site.

  • Prepared and implemented a traffic control plan.

  • High-visibility project located at a main entrance to the University that required an emergency response. Completed all work ahead of schedule and prior to graduation day.
