Description: The purpose of this project was to renovate a hangar space previously utilized as an office into a hydraulic clean room used for cleaning and maintaining hydraulic parts and equipment for the CH-53 helicopter. Key features include:
Performed architectural demolition including removal of existing doors, frames, and hardware, existing suspended ceiling grid and tiles, and cove base.
Installed solid core exterior and interior doors, a complete suspended ceiling system, wall-mounted Class B fire extinguishers, and three metal lockers. Walls, doors, and frames were painted.
The existing concrete floor was grinded, polished, and sealed for resistance to chemical spillages.
Replaced HVAC grilles, diffusers, and flex ducting; replaced five existing compressed air stations and their appurtenances; and installed energy-efficient LED lights.
Work was conducted in a secure hangar requiring all workers to receive turnstile access. Select workers from each trade were required to take a flight line drivers course to allow delivery of materials to the secured flight line.
