Description:
Design and construction of the In-Patient Decontamination unit housing eight (8) decontamination shower compartments for the Base Clinic. Building is attached to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) building.
Safety procedures and close coordination with EMS personnel minimized impact on the surrounding buildings and ensured uninterrupted operation of the EMS facility.
Demolished the existing structure and constructed a new structure with interior and exterior CMU walls and a steel truss roof system with thermoplastic roofing membrane. Finishes included two-part epoxy coated ceilings, walls, and flooring.
Included a 7-ton HVAC system with HEPA filters in each wash-down unit exhaust and at the main unit. Wash-down rooms were designed to drain and gravity-feed to a 5,000-gallon holding tank in a fenced containment area.
Site work included water service, sewer, and electrical.
