Description:

• Designed and constructed a pre-engineered metal building that supports the training needs of as many as 400 recruits during inclement weather and other times when training cannot be accomplished outdoors.

• Prepared complete plans and specifications for all disciplines including architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing.

• The 55’ x 70’ classroom includes interior and exterior lighting, a raised instructor’s platform, audio/visual equipment, retractable bleachers, ventilation, fire suppression and fire alarm systems, entrance doors, and roll-up doors.

• Other spaces included a 200-SF storage room, 200-SF two-person office, and a 300-SF muster area.

• Required biological monitoring by a permitted biologist to ensure the habitat of the federally endangered Pacific Pocket Mouse was not disturbed.

• Received the NAVFAC SW “Safety through Awards and Recognition (STAR)” award.
